We designed the book De Schaduw van de Meester for AFAS and photographer Julius Rooymans, documenting one of the largest Dutch art projects in recent history. This project comprises seven monumental artworks that reimagine the lives and works of renowned painters, brought to life with the help of 200 extras and meticulous attention to detail. Rooymans captured these masterpieces through photography, blending artistic authenticity with modern techniques.
The book is a visual journey, showcasing the artworks, their creation process, and the personal stories behind them. Featuring die-cut pages, special inks, and a screen-printed, die-cut cover, this unique design highlights the remarkable likeness between the originals and the reimagined pieces, offering a compelling tribute to Dutch art heritage.
